Censtar hydrogen energy equipment fuels the Beijing Winter Olympics!

2021-09-10

On September 9, the launching ceremony of the hydrogen energy service for the Beijing Winter Olympics was held at Qingyuan Street Hydrogen Station in Beijing, where four Sinopec hydrogen stations built in Chongli and Yanqing competition areas were announced to be put into operation officially. The attendees included Ma Yongsheng (general manager of Sinopec), Zhao Dong (deputy party secretary of Sinopec), and relevant officers of the Beijing Municipal People’s Government and Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee.

With a hydrogen station worker refueling hydrogen into a new energy bus, the first Sinopec hydrogen station serving the Winter Olympics was officially put into use. The hydrogen filling scene would be recorded forever in the development history of Sinopec.

That honorable hydrogen filling task was completed by the 35MPa Censtar hydrogen dispenser. To play its part in achieving the goal of carbon neutrality and peak in carbon dioxide emission and enabling a green Olympics, Censtar implements a market-oriented hydrogen energy industrial strategy, and preliminary results have been achieved. Censtar’s hydrogen energy business is ushering in a golden age.

Qingyuan Street Hydrogen Station is located in the No. 919 Bus Terminal on Qingyuan Street, Yanqing Town, Yanqing District, Beijing. It covers an area of 2,500 square meters, divided into hydrogen storage area, refueling area and service building area, with a daily hydrogen supply capacity of 1,500 kilograms. It is a comprehensive energy service station integrating hydrogen refueling, photovoltaics and convenience stores. It will serve hydrogen fuel cell vehicles in the Yanqing competition area of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics.

Facilities provided and built by Censtar H2E in the hydrogen storage area include 3 sets of 45MPa hydrogen cylinders, 2 sets of 90MPa hydrogen storage tanks, 3 sets of 45MPa compressors, 2 sets of 90MPa compressors, the compressor cooling facilities, the dispenser pre-cooling and cryogenic facilities, and the tube trailer parking area.

In the hydrogen filling area, there are four hydrogen filling islands with two 35MPa hydrogen dispensers and two 70MPa hydrogen dispensers. Hydrogen and utility systems are delivered through underground pipes from the hydrogen storage area. In the station building area, there are substation and distribution rooms, cabinet room and temporary rest room.

Hydrogen energy development is promising. Sinopec, determined to become China’s No. 1 hydrogen energy company, plans to build 1,000 hydrogen stations during the 14th Five-Year Plan period to bolster the entire hydrogen energy industry chain. Up to 100 hydrogen stations are expected to be newly built this year, including 50 exclusive ones for promoting the green Winter Olympics.

The opening ceremony of Qingyuan Street Hydrogen Station marks the completion of Sinopec’s hydrogen-oil-gas service network built for the Winter Olympics.
