Censtar delivers a speech at the 2019 China Petroleum and Petrochemical Hydrogen Energy Development Forum

On December 20, the 2019 China Petroleum and Petrochemical Hydrogen Energy Development Forum was held in Beijing. It was jointly sponsored by China Petroleum and Petrochemical Engineering Institute, Beijing Petroleum Society, and China University of Petroleum. Officers of relevant ministries and commissions such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the National Energy Administration, as well as leaders of PetroChina, Sinopec, CNOOC, Sinochem, Yanchang Petroleum and other group companies, academicians and well-known energy experts in China, as well as technical leaders of international hydrogen energy companies and research institutions, were invited to the conference.

Hundreds of domestic and foreign experts, scholars, and business representatives gathered to discuss industry issues and exchange ideas about hydrogen energy technologies such as coal-to-hydrogen, hydrogen purification, hydrogen filling, fuel cell system integration, hydrogen station equipment and technology, station construction strategy and operation. As a leading player in the energy equipment industry, Censtar responds actively to national energy development policies and has been playing its due role in strategic energy transformation.

In the opening speech, Yu Wei, general manager of Censtar, said, “Hydrogen energy can not only create environmental benefits, but bring opportunities for sustainable economic growth. The hydrogen energy industry chain is full of investment opportunities, but high technical barriers also exist. In addition to industrial development, the hydrogen industrial advancement requires financial support.”

Yu analyzed the domestic industry regarding hydrogen production, storage and transportation, hydrogen station construction, and terminal applications and shared Censtar’s responses and investment cases regarding the operation of two Sinopec oil-hydrogen stations in Shanghai.

Yu expressed his gratitude to the conference organizer for inviting him to give an opening speech. He hoped that industry experts and scholars would better know Censtar and that Censtar was willing to work with counterparts to promote the coordinated and healthy development of the industrial chain.

Experts and academicians from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Academy of Engineering, and the Academy of Sciences made special reports at the development forum. As a representative of hydrogen energy enterprises, Zhou Liang, deputy general manager of Censtar, also made a report titled “The Significance of Comprehensive Energy Hub - Oil-Hydrogen-Electricity Station to Future Hydrogen Station Construction”.

According to Zhou’s report, the oil-hydrogen-electricity station will be the comprehensive new energy hub. Currently, it is the basis for promoting hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Also, the flexible conversion of hydrogen to electricity makes it possible for widespread filling stations to serve as comprehensive energy hubs for distributed energy storage. Zhou’s report was highly recognized by the audience present.
