On September 29, the Zhengzhou Intelligent Hydrogen Station Engineering Technology Research Center submitted by Censtar H2e was officially approved by the Zhengzhou Science and Technology Bureau. The research center is Zhengzhou's first research center on the R&D and innovation of intelligent hydrogen station equipment, which is of great significance to the R&D and innovation of hydrogen energy equipment in Zhengzhou and even Henan Province.

The Research Center was established on the basis of Censtar H2e. It focuses on the development of hydrogen infrastructure products and conducts application-based and forward-looking research, while also addressing major technical issues, guided by market-oriented principles. In addition, the center also involves professional research, technical support, business training, and achievement transformation, providing mature and complete hydrogen station equipment and technical support for the hydrogen energy and fuel cell industries.

In the future, the Research Center will carry out work on the localization of key equipment for hydrogen stations, the formulation of industry standards, the exploration of new models for hydrogen stations, and the transformation of scientific research results for hydrogen energy equipment:

(1) Solving the problem of domestication of hydrogen station equipment and reducing the construction cost of hydrogen stations

The center will actively promote the independent research and development of key components of hydrogen refueling station equipment, accelerate breakthroughs in core technologies, and develop new production processes for related equipment and products through independent research and development. By benchmarking international technical indicators, the center will gradually substitute imported key components and reduce equipment production costs, construction costs of hydrogen refueling stations, and improve the efficiency of hydrogen refueling operations. The center aims to improve the entire industry chain layout, expand the hydrogen infrastructure industry, and accelerate the process of domestication of hydrogen station equipment.

(2) Accelerating the formulation of basic industry standards

The application and promotion of Censtar H2e’s hydrogen station equipment in the market has been recognized by customers, and the process of marketization and branding has begun. The company has successively participated in the compilation of national standards and industry and group standards such as Hydrogen Dispensers, Essential Requirements for the Safety of Hydrogen Systems, Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Gaseous Hydrogen Valves Used in Hydrogen Fueling Stations. The establishment of the center will provide data and decision-making basis for the formulation of relevant technical standards, accelerate the rapid implementation of hydrogen station technology standards, and pave the way for the promotion of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

(3) Exploring new models for building hydrogen stations to facilitate the layout and construction of such stations

To accelerate the construction of hydrogen infrastructure and make up for shortcomings in the industry's development, the center will explore new models for building hydrogen stations. It will provide equipment manufacturing and whole-station solutions for 35MPa and 70MPa fuel-hydrogen stations, gas-hydrogen stations, fuel-gas-hydrogen stations, fuel-hydrogen-electricity stations, and fuel-hydrogen-gas-electricity stations. Additionally, the center will also explore the conversion and expansion of existing gas stations into hydrogen stations.

(4) Undertaking scientific research tasks and providing technical support

The center will leverage its advantages in talent, equipment, and technology to independently or jointly with relevant universities and research institutions apply for and undertake national or local scientific and technological projects based on national and local scientific and technological development plans. The center will also provide technical support for the government in formulating relevant policies. The center will increase investment in funds, talents, technology, and equipment, and gradually achieve breakthroughs and innovations in the core technologies of domestic hydrogen refueling station equipment through independent innovation, integrated innovation, and digestion and absorption of imported technologies.

(5) Facilitating the transformation of technological achievements and promoting the rapid development of hydrogen energy industry

The center aims to commercialize technology, and based on independent innovation and technology introduction, it will develop research results with promising applications in a systematic and coordinated manner applying engineering principles and practices. The center will become a base for transforming major technological achievements into practical and commercial applications that can be integrated into the industry. It will also serve as a gathering place and a source for spreading and transforming key common technologies in the industry, providing mature, complementary technologies, processes, equipment, and new products for large-scale production by companies in the industry.
